Andrew P. Dobson, CPA

Andrew graduated from Wofford College in 2009 with a Bachelor of Arts in Accounting and received his Masters in Professional Accountancy with an Audit Emphasis from Clemson University in 2010.

While at McAbee, Schwartz, Halliday & Co., he has specialized in governmental and nonpublic accounting and auditing, as well as individual and corporate taxation. Andrew is a member of the American Institute of Public Accountants in addition to the South Carolina Association of Certified Public Accountants. Currently, Andrew sits on the South Carolina Department of Education’s Single Audit Committee for school district audits.

Christine A. Chance, CPA

Christine graduated from St. Bonaventure University in 1997 with a Masters in Business Administration degree majoring in Accounting.

She joined the firm in 2006 after working for a regional firm in Charleston, SC. Christine specializes in nonpublic and governmental accounting and auditing. She is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, and the South Carolina Association of Certified Public Accountants. She is a member of Reidville Road United Methodist Church in Moore.

Homer E. McAbee, Jr., CPA, CGMA, CVA

Eddie graduated from the University of South Carolina in 1972 with a degree in accounting, and worked with a national firm in Charlotte, North Carolina, prior to joining the Firm in 1975. He is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, a member of the South Carolina and North Carolina Associations of Certified Public Accountants. He is a certified valuation analyst (CVA).

Eddie is a Past Chairman of the South Carolina Association of CPA’s Peer Review Committee. Eddie chaired this committee during a period when responsibility for peer review oversight was transferred from the American Institute of CPA’s at the national level to the various state CPA societies. Prior to serving as chairman, he served as active committee member since 1988.

On the civic level, he is on the Board of Trustees of the Spartanburg Regional Healthcare System where he serves as Chairman of the Audit Committee and also serves on the Finance and Governance Committees and is an active member of Westminster Presbyterian Church in Spartanburg.

Karyn T. Lemon, CPA

Karyn is a 1998 graduate of the University of South Carolina Upstate with a degree in business administration with a concentration in accounting.

She joined the firm in 1997. She is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, as well as the South Carolina Association of Certified Public Accountants. Karyn is involved with for-profit, governmental and employee benefit plan audits as well as corporate and individual taxes. She is a past member of the Spartanburg County First Steps Board of Directors where she served on the Executive and Finance Committees. She is a Board member of Healthy Smiles of Spartanburg where she serves on the finance committee.

Beth W. Cooley, CPA

Beth graduated cum laude from The University of South Carolina Upstate in 1996. She joined the firm in January 1997. Prior to joining McAbee, Schwartz, Halliday & Co., she worked in corporate accounting for seven years. She is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and South Carolina Association of Certified Public Accountants.

Mrs. Cooley is a former Peer Reviewer for the American Institute of CPA’s National Peer Review Program. Additionally, she has served as a member of the South Carolina Peer Review Committee and Board member of the Spartanburg Chapter of the Institute of Management Accountants. On a civic level, she is actively involved with the First Baptist Church of Boiling Springs and is the former treasurer of Uptown Sertoma Club.

Quincy Stanford Halliday, IV., CPA

Quincy was born and raised in Spartanburg, SC. He graduated from the Unitversity of South Carolina in 2007 and 2010 with a Bachelor of Arts in Finance and Marketing and a Masters in Professional Accountancy, respectively.

Quincy worked for a national accounting firm in Charlotte, NC and Spartanburg/Greenville, SC, prior to joining McAbee, Schwartz, Halliday & Co. in 2014. He has gained extensive technical accounting and auditing knowledge while working on both private and public company assurance engagements in the manufacturing, real estate, investment management, governmental and not for profit industries throughout the Carolinas and the United States. He also has specialized knowledge in the areas of individual and corporate taxation. Quincy is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the South Carolina Association of Certified Public Accounts. He currently serves on the board of Total Ministries of Spartanburg and is a graduate of Spartanburg Regional Fellows, Class of 2015, and Leadership Spartanburg, Class of 2016.

Stephanie Atkinson Coln, CPA

Stephanie graduated from the University of South Carolina – Upstate in May 2008 with a Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, with a concentration in accounting, and immediately began working for McAbee, Schwartz, Halliday & Co. after graduation.

While at McAbee, Schwartz, Halliday & Co., she has specialized in governmental, nonpublic, and not-for-profit accounting and auditing, as well as individual and corporate taxation.Stephanie is a member of the American Institute of Public Accountants as well as the South Carolina Association of Certified Public Accountants.

Bruce W. Schwartz

Mr. Schwartz graduated magna cum laude from the University of South Carolina in 1983 with a degree in accounting. He joined the firm in 1983.

He is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, as well as the South Carolina Association of Certified Public Accountants. He has served on the Taxation Committee of the South Carolina Association of Certified Public Accountants, and is a past chairperson of that committee. He is a member of the Estate Planning Council of Spartanburg. He is Treasurer of the Episcopal Church of the Advent, having served in that position since 1998.

C. Emmett Halliday, CPA

Emmett is a 1978 graduate of Clemson University and he received a Masters in Accounting from the University of South Carolina in 1980. He entered public accounting in 1980 and continued until 1990 when he began working in corporate accounting.

After six years as a corporate controller, Emmett returned to public accounting andin 1998 he joined McAbee, Schwartz, Halliday & Co..He is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, as well as the SC Association of Certified Public Accountants. Emmett specializes in for profit and governmental accounting and auditing. He is the past Treasurer of Ducks Unlimited and the Spartanburg County Clemson Club.

Anna E. Strom, CPA

Anna graduated from Converse College in 2010 with a Bachelor of Science in Accounting and received her Master of Business Administration from Winthrop University in 2011.

She joined McAbee, Schwartz, Halliday & Co. in 2011. Prior to joining the firm, she interned during two tax seasons with Dixon Hughes Goodman, LLP. While at McAbee, Schwartz, Halliday & Co., she has specialized in governmental and not-for-profit accounting and auditing, as well as individual and corporate taxation. Anna is a member of the American Institute of Public Accountants in addition to the South Carolina Association of Certified Public Accountants. She is also an active member at Greater Union Church and resides in Pacolet, SC.

Betsy Vanover, CPA

Betsy graduated cum laude from Clemson University in 1986 with a degree in Accounting.  She joined the firm in 1986 and practices in the areas of audit, tax, and consulting such as data extraction and analysis services. She is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, as well as the South Carolina Association of Certified Public Accountants. She currently serves as treasurer of the McCarthy Teszler School PTSO in Spartanburg and as treasurer for Upper Woodlands Homeowners Association in NC and is an active member of Boiling Springs Church of Christ.

Jada McAbee, CPA

Jada is an alumna of Converse College in Spartanburg, SC where she double majored in Economics and Finance. She joined the firm in 1998 and is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the South Carolina Association of Certified Public Accountants.

Her audit experience includes not-for-profit, governmental and for profit entities. Her taxation experience includes corporate and individual returns.

Jada is a former Board Member of the South Carolina Association of Certified Public Accountants and is a Past President of the Foothills Chapter of the South Carolina Association of Certified Public Accountants.  She has volunteered and served on the Board of Directors of several not-for-profit organizations in the city of Spartanburg.  Jada is currently serving on the Board of Visitors of Converse College and is a member of the Spartanburg Regional Fellows, class of 2017 and the Executive Guild of the Hope Center for Children. Jada is a past President of the St. Luke's Free Medical Clinic and formerly served as Treasurer for the Junior League of Spartanburg and Ellen Hines Smith Girls' Home.

Katherine H. Papadea, CPA

Kitt is a Spartanburg, SC native, and 1975 graduate of Converse College. Having worked with financial institutions for many years across South Carolina, she later completed accounting studies at the University of South Carolina in Columbia.

She worked with an accounting firm there before returning to Spartanburg and joining McAbee, Schwartz, Halliday & Co. in 2000. Kitt served on Converse College’s Board of Visitors, held numerous positions on boards of various nonprofit and banking organizations in Columbia, including the National Association of Bank Women and the YWCA.

She taught classes in banking and accounting for members of the banking industry in Columbia, spoke at American Institute of Banking national and state conferences regarding banking education, and enjoyed volunteering in the public schools system. She is a member of the South Carolina Association of Certified Public Accountants, and her work with the firm primarily involves audits of small nonprofit organizations, as well as individual and corporate tax.

Samantha W. Brown, CPA

A native of the Upstate, Samantha joined the firm in 1999 as an intern. In 2000, she graduated magna cum laude from the University of South Carolina – Upstate with a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration with a concentration in Accounting.

Samantha specializes in audit and review engagements of for-profit entities, non-profit entities, and employee benefit plans, in addition to individual and corporate taxation. She is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the South Carolina Association of Certified Public Accountants. She is also an active member of her church, where she serves as a teacher. 

Sheila S. Morgan, CPA

Sheila graduated from the University of North Carolina at Asheville (1989) with a BS degree in accounting. Prior to joining McAbee Schwartz Halliday & Co. in 2002, she worked for three years at a large regional firm in Greenville, South Carolina and ten years for a local firm in Hendersonville, North Carolina.

She is certified in both South Carolina and North Carolina and is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the South Carolina Association of Certified Public Accountants. Sheila is a qualified peer reviewer under the AICPA Peer Review Program and currently serves on the South Carolina Peer Review Committee. Her experience includes audit, review, compilation and tax services with an emphasis in governmental and non-profit entities, quick service restaurants, and construction/real estate development. In her time away from work, she enjoys watching her daughter swim and is an enthusiastic volunteer with the Team Greenville Swimming Booster Club. Sheila also loves to sing and is active in the music ministry at Covenant United Methodist Church in Greer, SC.

Megan DeMoss

Megan DeMoss is a magna cum laude graduate of Rice University in Houston.

A native Texan, she has traveled extensively in the United States and Europe and comes to accounting after a career in educational publishing. Megan took her accounting courses at Wofford College and is now a CPA candidate. Since moving to Spartanburg in 2001, she has been an active volunteer in the League of Women Voters of Spartanburg County, Central United Methodist Church, and the Girl Scouts of South Carolina—Mountains to Midlands. Megan and her husband, a history professor at Wofford, have three children.

Sandra W. Gosnell, CPA

Sandra is a tax manager with the firm. She graduated from the University of South Carolina – Spartanburg with a degree in accounting.

She is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, South Carolina Association of Certified Public Accountants, Foothills Chapter of the South Carolina Association of Certified Public Accountants and the American Institute of Management Accountants. She has served on the Board of Directors of the Institute of Management Accountants, the Uptown Sertoma Club of Spartanburg and is currently serving on the Board of Directors of the Carolina Miracle League. She is also an active member and volunteer of Boiling Springs First Baptist Church.

Jackie Hughes

Jackie was born in the United Kingdom and, at age twelve, moved with her family to South Carolina. She later became a United States citizen and has lived in Spartanburg ever since.

After attending Spartanburg Community College, Jackie was employed with several companies in various industries. She joined McAbee, Schwartz, Halliday & Co., Inc. in 2001 and now serves as coordinator of the Accounting Services Department. Her duties include assisting clients with monthly closings, payroll processing and quarterly and year-end tax reporting. She is a former member and treasurer of the Spartanburg Lions Club and currently serves as a member of the Inman Lions Club. In addition, Jackie is an active member of her church.

Randolph B. Thomas, CPA

Randy is a 1970 graduate of Wofford College, and has a Master of Accountancy degree from the University of South Carolina. He joined the Firm in 1983 after working for a large regional firm in Columbia, SC.

He is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, and the South Carolina Association of Certified Public Accountants, where he has served on the Peer Review Committee and as president of the Foothills Chapter. Also being active in the local chapter of the Institute of Management Accountants, he has served as president of the Spartanburg chapter, and as a National Director. Randy has held numerous positions in the Lions Club at state, district, and local club levels, and has taught at USC Upstate as an adjunct accounting professor.

Susie Allison

Susie graduated magna cum laude from Western Carolina University in 1982 with a degree in accounting. She joined the firm in 1984. Susie is part of our accounting services department and is very knowledgeable about payroll and the related IRS and state payroll tax forms.

Q. Stanford Halliday, III, CPA

Stan is a partner in the firm of McAbee, Schwartz, Halliday &Co. He graduated from Wake Forest University in 1975. In 1979, he received a Masters in Accounting from the University of South Carolina.

He worked four years for a national firm in Spartanburg, SC, and was in private practice for two years before joining the Firm in May 1985. He is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, as well as the SC Association of Certified Public Accountants. He is a past Director and Treasurer of Mobile Meals of Spartanburg, is a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Spartanburg, and is Past-President of the Spartanburg Chapter of Ducks Unlimited and South Carolina Waterfowl Association. Stan is a past President and Treasurer of the Country Club of Spartanburg and is a past member of the board of Spartanburg Area Chamber of Commerce and is currently serving on the Board of Governors. He currently serves as Treasurer of the Walker Foundation and sits on the Fish and Wildlife Advisory Committee of the State Department of Natural Resources.

John Coggins, CPA

John graduated magna cum laude from Wofford College in 2013 with a Bachelor of Science degree in accounting and finance. In 2015, he earned his Master of Professional Accountancy with an emphasis in tax from Clemson University, where he worked as a graduate assistant and was inducted into the Beta Gamma Sigma International Honor Society with a 4.0 GPA.

John joined McAbee, Schwartz, Halliday & Co. in 2015 and is a CPA candidate. He is a lifelong member of Central United Methodist Church, a frequent volunteer at the Spartanburg Soup kitchen, and an avid Clemson football fan.

Tonya Buice

Tonya graduated from Campbell University in 1995 with a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, with a concentration in accounting.

She has worked for 19 years in Construction Accounting.  She has experience with QuickBooks and Timberline Accounting Software.  Tonya is an active member of Southside Baptist Church in Gaffney and works with the preschool children.

Dillon Fleming

Dillon graduated from Clemson University in 2015 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting and minor in Financial Management.  In 2016, he received his Master of Professional Accountancy with a concentration in tax from Clemson University.

Dillon, a Spartanburg native, joined McAbee, Schwartz, Halliday & Co. in 2017.  He is a CPA candidate, pursing his license in South Carolina.  In his spare time, he is a passionate supporter of Clemson athletics, especially football.

Staci Kuester

Staci, a native of Pennsylvania, has more than 30 years of accounting experience within the private and public business sectors. Her experience began, while still in high school, she was hired by a local CPA firm in her hometown. Found to be well suited to accounting and really enjoying the work, she’s made it her career. As a member of McAbee, Schwartz, Halliday & Company’s Accounting Services Department, she assists clients with Payroll Processing, Monthly, Quarterly and Yearly Financial Statements and associated tax reporting.

She lives in Roebuck with her husband of more than 25 years, along with her feathered and four legged children. She, along with her husband, enjoys rescuing and rehabilitating local wildlife in their free time.
